Time is short, and running out...
Time is a finite resource. None of us ever have enough time. We always talk about the things we would do if we had the time to do them, but few realise how short time really is.
You see, 'time' is but a blink of an eye when considered in the light of eternity. Millions of earthly years are but a drop in the ocean when compared to the unending vastness of eternity.
The Bible is very clear that time is short. There is an urgency to the calls for repentance that we read about in God's Word. There is no time to spare, we must get right with God because each one of us is standing at the brink of eternity.
Not one of us can guarantee that we will be opening presents next Christmas, travelling to work tomorrow, or even drawing our next breath. We are helpless when faced with death.
Stalling for time is not an option. Waiting until tomorrow, or saying that you will "get right with God" when you are older is like walking along a precipice in a hurricance. You must acknowldge your sin, acknoweldge your utter helplessness to save yourself, and turn to God for salvation. Only then will the future bear no fear for you, because you will have settled the account with God.
