We can be with Him, where He is...
How many of us think of what the future will bring, of what death will bring. Some may regard it as morbid thinking, but God through his Word urges us to consider our latter end. Our "threescore years and ten" are soon over, and then what? Have we squandered our existence literally on the things of the world. Or are we saved, our sins forgiven and ready to meet Him?
The Bible is unequivocal on the existence of heaven and hell. To remove, or "explain" away one, is to destroy the whole of Scripture. We have a heaven to gain, and a hell to shun.
God has promised a home in heaven for all of those who love Him, those who have trusted Him as their personal Saviour. Eternal life in the Eternal city is not attained, earned, or worked for. There is nothing that we as sinners can do to reach heaven. All our efforts at doing good, living "cleanly" or in practicing habitual religion yield no fruit in the end.
There is only one Way to Heaven, and that is Christ. May you trust in Him, and one day go to meet Him in your eternal home.
